Hey Memora ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your email address when you create an account, flashcard content you create, and study session data. We also collect device information and usage analytics to improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Hey Memora service, including: generating flashcards using AI, scheduling spaced repetition reviews, syncing your data across devices, and sending you study reminders (if enabled).

3. AI Processing

When you use our AI card generation feature, the text you provide is sent to OpenAI for processing. We do not store the raw text on our servers beyond what is necessary to generate your flashcards. OpenAI processes this data according to their privacy policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your flashcards and study data are stored locally on your device and, if you create an account, on our secure servers hosted on Fly.io with a PostgreSQL database on Neon. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and follow industry-standard security practices.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: OpenAI (for AI card generation), RevenueCat (for subscription management), PostHog (for anonymous analytics), and Resend (for transactional emails). Each provider processes data according to their respective privacy policies.

6. Your Rights

You can request to access, update, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can also delete your account from within the app, which will remove all associated data from our servers.

7. Guest Mode

You can use Hey Memora without creating an account. In guest mode, all data is stored only on your device. If you later create an account, your guest data will be migrated to your account.

8. Children's Privacy

Hey Memora is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app and on our website.
